Program Funding Opportunities
Each year the Southeast Region’s Fisheries Program has two
major opportunities to provide funding for on-the-ground enhancement
and restoration of aquatic habitats. Funding is available through
the National Fish Passage Program and the National Fish Habitat
Action Plan to any Service Division, agency, or non-governmental
organization that has the capability to perform this type of
work. Individual project funding has ranged from $5K to $200K and
generally averages around $40k.
Funding requests are accepted throughout the year. Requests are
usually prioritized during October and high priority projects generally
receive funding by March of the following year. The process to request
funding has been streamlined into a one-page project description
that highlights only the most important pieces of information and
a pre-project photo. If you have an interest in learning more about
