By W. R. Berkas

Abstract: North Dakota Water Quality Symposium, Bismarck, North Dakota, March 25-26 1992

In May 1988 and 1989, the U.S. Geological Survey collected suspended-sediment data at 20 sites between Garrison Dam and the upstream end of Lake Oahe while the release from Garrison Dam was maintained at about 18,000 cubic feet per second. Bed-material samples were collected in 1988, and bedload samples were collected in 1989. In May and June 1990, bank-material data were collected at 34 actively eroding sites. In April 1991, suspended-sediment data again were collected at the 20 sites while the release from Garrison Dam was maintained at about 32,000 cubic feet per second. Bed-material data were collected at 11 of these sites, and bedload data were collected at 5 of these sites.
