 Abstract

  Interactive Hard Rock Mining 2006 Conference – CD (EPA/625/C-07/003) 2007

This interactive conference CD provides scientific information on current and future environmental issues that shape the future of the mining industry. It includes information related to mining for base metals, precious metals, industrial minerals, and aggregates.

Conference attendees examined existing mining practices and sought to emphasize efficient extraction and maximum use of resources in mining (including all by-products), waste management, restoration and reclamation, and socioeconomic advantages that contribute to sustainable development for hard rock mining. Attendees included mining remediation researchers and practitioners; federal, state, local, and tribal decision makers; mining industry representatives; and others interested in mining remediation and sustainability.
