International Compost Awareness Week

May 3 - May 9

Composting is nature's way of recycling. It is the natural process of decomposition and recycling of organic material, such as leaves, garden waste and grass, into a humus rich-soil amendment known as compost. Compost improves soil naturally by adding moisture and nutrients that nurture plant health.

The City of Valparaiso Public Works Department will be on hand at the Valparaiso Compost Site Monday, May 4 through Saturday, May 9 from 9 a.m. until Noon, to load compost free of charge. (Businesses interested in participating should call 462-4612 for further details.)

Announcing the Portage Elementary Recycling Contest!!!

February 23rd through March 20th.  Help support your school and drop off your paper recycling in the Abitibi Recycling Bin located at your school.

Final Results have been posted!
