AESO Provides Wildlife Educational Opportunities to Preschoolers in the Phoenix Metro Area
Southwest Region, February 27, 2009
Print Friendly Version
Environmental Contaminant biologists, Carrie Marr and Kevin Reynolds, from the AESO introduced animals from the wild into the classroom by providing one-on-one time for preschoolers and wildlife.  Eight presentations were provided over three days (February 25- 27, 2009) to children in Phoenix and Surprise.  Using a burrowing owl from Arizona Game and Fish Department's Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center and the blue goose from Region 2, they compared and contrasted how owls and waterfowl are different.  They also discussed how birds are different from mammals using furs from Adobe Mountain.  This environmental education opportunity was provided to approximately 237 preschoolers.
