This project involved the restoration of a wetland area that was ditched, cleared and used for cattle grazing. Cattle were removed from the site several years ago, and native sedge meadow vegetation can be found through much of the area. The site was further restored through the filling of over 2,000 feet of ditch, and enhanced through the construction of five shallow wetland scrapes.  Selective herbicide application is being used to control exotic invasive vegetation. The site will provide excellent sedge meadow habitat for many species of migratory birds and other wetland wildlife. The restoration of this wetland area will also improve the quality of the Upper Middle Inlet Creek, a coldwater stream which runs for a half mile along its edge.
