Who cares, when there is wild game meat to be shared!  A collaboration between Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge and Alaska State Wildlife Troopers has enabled quality wild game meat seized by Troopers in Fairbanks to be delivered by Yukon Flats Refuge staff to communities within the Refuge.  This effort only helps support elders and others in the communities in short supply of meat, but hopefully will reduce temptations to kill cow moose on the Yukon Flats Refuge until populations recover.  Meat kept frozen in Fairbanks is delivered to the villages by Yukon Flats Refuge staff during regular visits.
