That's right! Lake trout fingerlings were delivered to Pendill's Creek National Fish Hatchery (NFH) on June 6th, after being held back at Jordan River NFH and Iron River NFH due to construction of new their raceways, although the hatchery itself still remains closed to the general public. Construction is well underway with almost half of the old raceways removed. Pendill's hatchery is getting a bit of an overhaul to improve their raceways and to make them more accessible. The remaining raceways were started back up in preparation to receive production fish from Jordan River NFH. The lakers will be held at Pendill's Creek until they are ready to be stocked into Lake Michigan and Lake Huron next April. For now the lakers will be held in the remaining eight raceways till the new ones are finish. Then the fish will be moved into their new abodes, while the last eight raceways will be demolished and replaced. Construction is due to be finished in the beginning of November.
