On January 12, 2008 nine volunteers from the Tulsa Regional Oklahoma Grotto and other surrounding chapters of the National Speleological Society from Arkansas and Missouri helped the Ozark Plateau National Wildlife Refuge manager, Steve Hensley map portions of Refuge AD-14.  This has been an ongoing mapping effort for over 10 years and nearly nine miles of cave passage has been mapped by these volunteers.  There are a number of leads left to map, but there are plans to publish the map in the near future.  The map will help with managing the cave by discovering the extent of the cave, documenting important resources, and identifying where the cave lies in relation to overlying land use.  This is a major cave in Adair County Oklahoma near the Arkansas state line that is used by both federally listed endangered Ozark big-eared bats and gray bats. Also three new species of insects have been found from the cave.
