The East Lansing Ecological Services Field Office recently hosted a coordination meeting with the Federal Highway Administration and Michigan Department of Transportation.

The meeting afforded an opportunity to discuss current issues, both programmatic and project specific, about migratory bird conservation, NEPA requirements, wetland permitting concerns, and section 7 consultations.

Closer coordination on various Michigan DOT programs, including the local areas program, is anticipated as an outcome of the meeting.
