On August 29, Heidi Keuler, La Crosse NFWCO, Andy Stetter, a volunteer from La Crosse NFWCO, and Sarah Bauer and Lucas Purnell from the La Crosse FHC sampled common carp in Pool 3 of the Mississippi River near Prairie Island Reservation in Minnesota. 

The La Crosse FHC is currently looking for Spring Viremia of Carp Virus (SVCV) along with other viruses in the Mississippi River.  Twenty-six common carp were netted in the field and dissected in the FHC laboratory.  However, results will not be revealed until after October 1, 2007.
