Lower Great Lakes Fishery Resources Office biologist Betsy Trometer and  STEP student Margaret Donohue provided an educational and interactive display at the 2007 Tonawanda Kids Fishing Derby held at Niawanda Park in Tonawanda, NY. The display, which included information on Great Lakes fishes, aquatic nuisance species, and identification of aquatic macro-invertebrates, attracted both children and adults during the event.  More than 400 children participated in the fishing derby hosted by the City of Tonawanda.
