In on-going coordination with developers of the proposed Penascal Wind Farm in Kenedy County, Texas, the Corpus Christi Ecological Services Office was updated on avian surveys for the project that will be located in coastal prairie south of Baffin Bay and west of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and Padre Island National Seashore.  Project developers, American Shoreline, Inc. and PPM Energy, plan to construct Phase 1 in 2008. The Service also received initial information on two proposed inland wind farm projects, the Alta Mesa Wind Farm in Webb County, and the Rio Vista Wind Farm in Jim Hogg County.
