The Annual Interagency Wildland Fire Safety Refresher was held in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, on March 20. 

The event fulfills the FWS requirement for an eight-hour annual refresher covering wildland fire fighting safety. 

The session is sponsored by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, (Detroit Lakes Fire Management District) and the Minnesota DNR.  

There were 72 participants, including representatives from:  Detroit Lakes WMDs, Tamarac NWR, Hamden Slough NWR, Rydell/Glacial Ridge NWR, MN DNR Forestry, MN DNR Wildlife, The Nature Conservancy - Glacial Ridge, Becker County Sentence to Serve crew leader, the BIA, Becker County Natural Resource Management, and private contractors.
