Southwest Region, July 3, 2006
Print Friendly Version
In June 2006, two prairie wetland project proposals submitted by the Corpus Christi Ecological Services Field Office (CCESFO) were approved by the Texas Prairie Wetlands Program Steering Committee.  One project, located in Willacy County, consists of restoration of eight acres of wetland habitat in a former Resaca.  The other project involves restoration of 17 acres of emergent wetland habitat in Lavaca County.  In addition, construction was completed at a project developed by the CCESFO in conjunction with the Natural Resources Conservation Service involving restoration of 24 acres of emergent wetland habitat in a former rice field in Calhoun County.
