Journal Entry   Back KENAI: Refuge Joins With Partners to Combat Invasive Plants Alaska Region, May 19, 2006 Print Friendly Version Kenai National Wildlife Refuge signed a Memorandum of Understanding on May 19, 2006 to join other organizations in the fight against invasive plants on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska.  The Kenai Peninsula Cooperative Weed Management Area Agreement brings a variety of stakeholders together to minimize the introduction of invasive plants, promote control of existing exotic weeds, and work together in the future in coordination on common objectives.  Joining the Refuge in the Agreement include the Kenai Soil and Water Conservation District, U.S. Forest Service, City of Homer, Seldovia Village Tribe, Kenai Fjords National Park, Kenai Garden Club, Kachemak Bay State Park, and eight other agencies or organizations.
