Although the weather didn't completely cooperate, Eagle Watch 2006 at Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge was a big success.  Tours were held on January 14 & 15, 21 & 21, and 28.  Over 200 visitors attended and more than 50 eagles were spotted.  Each tour had an opportunity to see one of the four pairs of nesting eagles that remain on the Refuge year-round, as well as eagles that migrate through the area.  Tours are conducted in Refuge vehicles and led by volunteers - some who have been giving tours for more than a decade!
