Kenai National Wildlife Refuge's New Exibit: Where Wildlife Comes First.
Kenai National Wildlife Refuge's New Exibit: Where Wildlife Comes First.

Two new exhibits at Kenai National Wildlife Refuge headquarters in Soldotna are receiving much attention.  A new "KENAI NWR:  Where Wildlife Comes First" exhibit replaces a 20 plus year old exhibit whose message had grown stale.  The new display’s pictures and maps orient visitors to recreation opportunities on the Refuge.  The second exhibit is a refurbished "Sounds of the Kenai" with new integrated circuit hardware replacing outdated technology and new handsets for visitors to listen to the piercing call of a bald eagle, and the low guttural grunt of a bull moose, among other wildlife sounds.  The work was completed by Wilderness Graphics, a long-time contractor for Refuge interpretive materials and was funded by one-time maintenance monies.
