Journal Entry   Back CanaanValley NWR "adopts" a highway Northeast Region, June 27, 2005 Print Friendly Version The Refuge decided to "adopt the highway" in front of our office and visitor center in order to keep the area clean and to improve our image in the community.  The first clean-up day happened in June.   Six staff and one volunteer cleared approximately 30 bags of trash from along the two mile stretch of highway.
