The newly-incorporated Friends of Green Lake National Fish Hatchery (incorporated July 2005) sponsored Green Lake NFH's second annual Open House on August 27th, and the very first for the Friends of Green Lake NFH organization. The Friends organized and implemented a very successful outing, and the weather couldn't have been better. The nearly 300 visitors had opportunity to view displays and exhibits produced by several USFWS partners, including demonstrations on fly-tying, fly casting, activities of the Downeast Land Conservation Trust in conserving Atlantic salmon habitat and many displays and activities centered upon Atlantic salmon, their habitats and watersheds.
