The feasibility study is being conducted in three phases. Phase 1 consists of a series of three workshops and two field trips with sponsors and resource agency staff to facilitate and determine additional issues to be studied in Phase 2. On September 13, 2005, Pat Clements, staff biologist from the Corpus Christi Ecological Services Field Station, participated in the field assessment as part of Phase 1 of the Nueces River Basin Study. The interagency team, including representatives from Texas Parks and Wildlife, Texas Water Development Board, San Antonio Water Supply, Environmental Protection Agency, Edwards Aquifer Authority, and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, among others, visited the area proposed for a reservoir that could serve as both for flood control and water supply. On September 28th and 29th, Pat will participate in an interagency workshop (Workshop #3), the final event for Phase 1 of the feasibility study. At Workshop #3 the interagency team will review the lessons from the previous workshops and make plans for Phase 2.
