Access road to Moosehorn Refuge's Bearce Lake Wilderness Area gets a face lift

The access road to the Bearce Lake Wilderness Area at Moosehorn refuge has been given a face lift. Boulders have been removed to permit easier boat access, an information kiosk has been installed, as well as several signs informing the public about the wilderness designation and its regulations. Unfortunately, the area has been plagued by vandalism, the destruction of refuge signs and kiosks, the persistent use of boats with motors, drug use, and dumping.

Management is evaluating ways to deal with the problems.
