Iroquois NWR Participates in Conservation Field Days

The refuge participated in Orleans, Niagara and Genesee County Conservation Field Days (CFD) where 5th and 6th graders from the counties traveled through 15 minute learning stations hearing many experts speak on conservation related subjects. The refuge presented a learning station on the Bald Eagle, using video collected by the refuge's bald eagle nesting camera system and conducted several group activities. The Orleans County Conservation Field Days (CFD's) was held at the Orleans County Fairgrounds on May 10 & 11 and reached 257 students. Genesee Co. CFD's held at Genesee County Park, Batavia on June 1 & 2 reached 237 students and Niagara Co. CFD's at Royalton Ravine Park on June 7 & 8 reached 241 students. Refuge staff and volunteers manned the exhibits and conducted the activities. There were 36 volunteer hours recorded for assistance with Conservation Field Days.
