Journal Entry   Back KENAI: Employee Selected for National Fire Program Alaska Region, May 25, 2005 Print Friendly Version Karen McGahan, Kenai Refuge Fire Program Technician, was selected for the National Interagency Technical Fire Management Program. Ms. McGahan is one of two U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employees nationwide selected for the program this year and only the second Service employee ever selected from Alaska. The lengthy program includes significant academic and technical training in fire management activities which will benefit both the Refuge and Ms. McGahan's career advancement. Coursework for the program will be undertaken at the same time as regular duties performed at the Refuge.
