Journal Entry   Back Volunteers Volunteer at Local School Southwest Region, April 1, 2005 Print Friendly Version Volunteers Jerry and Norma King represented Dexter National Fish Hatchery and Technology Center (Center) at the "Read Your Child a Book Week" at the local elementary school in Dexter, New Mexico. The Kings spent 2 days in April reading to 40 small children and sharing information about the Center and its activities. By introducing the children to Center activities in a way that they could understand, the Kings have given the children new information and ideas to ponder. Reaching out to children of the surrounding communities has been an undertaking that the Center has welcomed wholeheartedly.
