Navajo Nation Tribal Community Civilian Corps Participates in Middle Rio Grande Education Activities

On March 11, 2005, the Middle Rio Grande Coordinator conducted a day-long education and training activity for 11 members of the Navajo Tribe participating in the Tribal Community Civilian Corps (TC3). The day-long education and training included: presentation of the Ground-Water/Surface-Water Physical Model; presentation of Rio Grande Silvery Minnow: Past and Present; guided tour of the City of Albuquerque Rio Grande Silvery Minnow Naturalized Refugium; and, guided tour of the Rio Rancho Bosque Restoration Site. The TC3 is participating in an 8-week program with the Indio-Hispano Academy of Agricultural Arts and Sciences (the Academy). The Academy is an active participant in the Service's Middle Rio Grande Bosque Initiative Bosque Improvement Group, and serves Hispanic and American Indian communities by providing alternative education opportunities in agriculture, habitat restoration and job training.
