Southwest DPS Gray Wolf Recovery Team Meeting
Southwest Region, October 13, 2004
Print Friendly Version
In 1979, a Mexican Wolf Recovery Team was formed and prepared the current Mexican Wolf Recovery Plan. The plan, published in 1982, is outdated and a new Recovery Team (Southwest DPS Gray Wolf Recovery Team) has recently been convened. This Recovery Team's task is to write an updated Recovery Plan which will include down-listing and de-listing criteria for gray wolves in the Southwest Distinct Population Segment.

This was the fifth meeting of the new Recovery Team, which took place in Albuquerque, NM, October 12-13, 2004. The team consists of a stakeholder component and a technical component. The Recovery Team is in the initial stages of recovery planning, discussing many of the issues they expect to encounter along the way.
