Four Partners Projects Selected for Funding

The State Committee of the Arizona Partners for Fish and Wildlife met on Ocotober 19 and reviewed 7 applications that were submitted for funding in 2005. Four projects were selected, totaling $48,801. One project will include Winslow High School where the Arizona Game and Fish Department in constructing a refugium for the threatened Little Colorado spinedace. A second project will enhance a wetland area that is utilized by several migratory birds in southeastern AZ. A third project will assist in completing livestock exclosure fencing on the Audubon Research Ranch in southern AZ. The fourth project will assist a private landowner in installing an elk exclosure fence that will protect the riparian area associated with Nutrioso Creek, a stream that contains Little Colorado spinedace.
