Significant New Populations of Virginia Sneezeweed Discovered in Missouri
Midwest Region, September 27, 2004
Print Friendly Version
When the draft recovery plan for the Virginia sneezeweed was released in October 2000, this threatened plant was known to exist in approximately 30 sites in two Virginia counties and one site in Missouri. Surveys for the species in Missouri in 2003 and 2004 have resulted in the discovery of between 40 and 50 populations in six counties. The find of substantially more populations in Missouri is important new information that may support a future potential delisting of this plant.
