A July cleanup on Pea Island NWR removes some 1,800 lbs of trash

FWS employees, volunteers, and interns joined community residents and out-of-state visitors, July 17th, to complete a major clean-up of the popular bank fishing areas and catwalks, surrounding the Bonner Bridge on Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. Approximately 1,800 lbs. of trash was hauled away with glass, plastic and aluminum being separated for recycling.
