Prioritization and Approval Process

Concept proposals are evaluated according to the following criteria:

• Available funding
• Public health significance
• Appropriateness and feasibility of the study design

Concept proposals are reviewed by the VTEU Oversight Committee every 60 days. Concepts that are approved are developed collaboratively with the PI and Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (DMID) protocol team using the DMID protocol template and follow a standard protocol development process.
