Playtime for Kids - A National Weather Service website with a lot of great information about topics including hurricanes, winter storms, thunderstorms, floods, tornadoes, and lightning.  Also includes links for coloring books, games, and puzzles!

Owlie Skywarn Homepage - Owlie, a mascot for the National Weather Service, teachs about the hazards of severe weather which include tornadoes, lightning, hurricanes, flash floods and winter storms.

Billy and Maria - NSSL Coloring book series for children who want to learn more about the weather, these pdf files can be printed and used for weather education in the classroom or at home.

Lightning Safety for Kids
- Help keep you and your family safe from the dangers of lightning.  This site includes safety tips and activities, including Leon's Lightning Safety Game!

National Weather Service's Education Resources - This page offers information for children, teens and young adults. Materials range from coloring books, puzzles and games, to lesson plans, brochures, satellite images, and career information for weather related fields, such as meteorology, hydrology and climatology.

NOAA Weather Ranger - An educational and outreach product of the Southeast River Forecast Center, this site offers information about flood safety.  Includes PowerPoint presentations, videos, coloring books, and posters.  

National Severe Storms Laboratory Resources - Contains a comprehensive resource list for those who want to teach weather and climate, along with lessons in basic weather map analysis and interpretation.  Decision-making information about staying safe during hazardous weather is available, as well as questions and answers about various weather phenomena.

NOAA's Education Resources - NOAA's many educational activities are distributed across the agency. This site has been designed to help students, teachers, librarians and the general public access the many educational activities, publications, and booklets that have been produced.

National Weather Service Glossary - This glossary contains information on more than 2000 terms, phrases and abbreviations used by the NWS. Many of these terms and abbreviations are used by NWS forecasters to communicate between each other and have been in use for many years.
