The Honorable Guy Vander Jagt Dear Congressman Vander Jagt: Thank you for your letter of December 20, 1991, on behalf of your constituent, Mrs. Helen Forbes, who is seeking information on the law requiring drug testing for long distance truck drivers. The Department of Transportation (DOT) has the authority and responsibility for promulgating and enforcing regulations related to the trucking industry. I have referred your letter to Mr. Richard P. Landis, Associate Administrator of the Office of Motor Carriers, Federal Highway Administration at DOT and a copy of that referral letter is enclosed. I hope this information is of assistance to you and Mrs. Forbes. If we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely, |
