Fire Island National Seashore's Annual Photograph Contest is held in August at Sailors Haven.

2008 Theme:

  • "My Best Memories in a National Park"

Theme Categories:

  • Nature in Action
  • People
  • Historical Sites
  • The Four Seasons at Fire Island

Age Categories:

  • Adult
  • Age 13 - 18
  • Age 8 - 12
  • Age 5 - 7

Contest Rules:

Photographs only

  • Prints may be on any finish paper, but size is restricted to 5"x7" or 8"x10"
    No other sizes are accepted
  • Photographs must be mounted with your name, address, age, phone number and category
  • No glass frames

All photographs will be judged based on content, clarity, subject matter and creativity. Ribbons will be awarded in each category. 

Only one entry per person.

Entries will be accepted from August 10 through August 16, 2008, at either

  • Sailors Haven Visitor Center on Fire Island
  • Park Headquarters in Patchogue 

All photographs will be displayed at the Sailors Haven Visitor Center from August 20 through Labor Day, 2008.
