Water Treatment - Overview

Construction of the Elwha Water Treatment Plant
NPS
Construction of the Elwha Water Treatment Plant during the summer of 2008.

Overview:
Two water treatment plants are currently under construction, both of which will protect water users from the turbidities that will occur upon removal of the Elwha and Glines Canyon Dams. These sediments have been accumulating for the past 100 and 80 years, respectively. The facilities will take in surface water for treatment and provide clean water for munipal, industrial, and hatchery needs. The Elwha Water Facilities also deals with Area Flood Protection. The following links provide more information regarding the two projects.
