The Central Hardwoods Joint Venture (CHJV) operates as a field station of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Migratory Bird Program in the service of the Central Hardwoods Joint Venture Management Board. The Joint Venture Coordinator and associated staff are responsible for facilitating, guiding, and leading the various working groups created by the Board in pursuing all facets of Joint Venture implementation. The purpose of the CHJV is to complement the goals and objectives of national and international bird conservation plans within the Central Hardwoods Bird Conservation Region (CHBCR), including the Ozark Highlands, Boston Mountains and Interior Lowland Plateaus.
