Recovery Act Process and Consideration Guidelines for RLF Grant Supplemental Funding

EPA is announcing the availability of an estimated $40 million in Recovery Act funds to supplement eligible brownfields revolving loan fund (RLF) grants. Grants eligible to request Recovery Act supplemental funds are brownfields RLF grants that have been previously awarded competitively under Section 104(k)(3) of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) or that have transitioned to Section 104(k)(3) of CERCLA, and subject to other identified criteria. Requests for funding must be postmarked and received by email by May 1, 2009. Recovery Act Job Training Grant Application Guildelines/Request for Applications (RFA)

On March 19, 2009, EPA issued a request for applications (RFA) from eligible governmental entities and nonprofit organizations to provide environmental job training projects that will facilitate job creation in the assessment, remediation, or preparation of brownfields sites for sustainable reuse. The closing date for receipt of applications is April 20, 2009. More information about brownfields job training grants is available online.

FY09 Proposal Guidelines for Brownfields Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund, and Cleanup Grants

These grants may be used to address sites contaminated by petroleum and hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants (including hazardous substances co-mingled with petroleum). Opportunities for funding are as follows: Brownfields Assessment Grants (each funded up to $200,000 over three years), Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Grants (each funded up to $1,000,000 over five years) and Brownfields Cleanup Grants (each funded up to $200,000 over three years). The proposal deadline is November 14, 2008.

Brownfields Job Training Grants

This notice announces the availability of funds and solicits applications from eligible entities and non-profit organizations to provide environmental job training projects focused on brownfields assessment, cleanup, and redevelopment activities. The objective of the Brownfields Job Training Grant Program is to recruit, train, and place unemployed and under-employed individuals from brownfields-impacted communities in full-time sustainable environmental employment. Applications must be postmarked by October 15, 2008 5:00 pm.
