Recent News

November 21, 2008: The 2007 edition of the Agency's Annual Report on landfill disposal and available landfill capacity in Illinois is now available.  The 21st edition includes data on landfills, transfer stations and compost sites throughout the state.  Printed copies will no longer be available.

September 19, 2008: New proposed amendments that will add the indoor inhalation exposure route to TACO's (Tiered Approach to Corrective Action Objectives) risk-based cleanup methodology are now available

July 16, 2008:  A revised notice on the frequency of submitting applications for the reimbursement of LUST claims as provided by the Environmental Protection Act and the Illinois Pollution Control Board regulations is now available.

April 29, 2008:  A new fact sheet on how to dispose of unused medications in an environmentally responsible way to keep them from getting in drinking water supply sources is now available.

April 1, 2008: Hernando Albarracin is the newly appointed manager of the Leaking Underground Storage Tank Section.

March 3, 2008: The 2008 Waste Tire Collection schedule is now available.
