The Annual Status Report for Alliance projects initiated by the OSHA Area Office in Jackson, Mississippi, was completed April 12, 2004. The milestones and accomplishments achieved by these projects are listed below:

  1. Northrop Grumman Alliance signed May 9, 2003

    Milestones Met in FY 2003 and First Half of FY 2004:
    • Enhanced Safety and Health Program - Shared information on best practices
      • STOP Cards
      • Near Miss Report and Investigation System
      • Safety Liaison Program
    • Provided training for Safety Action Team members

    • Received presentations on requirements for VPP participation from current VPP sites
      • USPS Baton Rouge P&DC
      • Georgia Pacific Leaf River Pulp Operation
    • Conducted all scheduled Quarterly Alliance Meetings
    Upcoming Milestones:
    • Maintain commitment to VPP participation
      • Reducing injury/illness rates 
      • Two VPP participant have shared information
  2. EPA of MS Alliance signed May 23, 2003

    Milestones Met in FY 2003 and First Half of FY 2004:
    • Presented "So You Want to Be a Lineman" to the following Associations:
      • Oct 28 Magnolia Electric Power Association
      • Jan 6-7 Four County Electric Power Association
      • Feb 23-24 Coast Electric Power Association
    Note: Previously presented to: Southern Pine Electric Power Association and Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association
    • Advance Lineman School (10/6-10/03) - One CSHO attended

    • Distribute the following CD's to members: Electrical CD, Photo CD, and Jackson Area Office Recordkeeping CD

    • Spoke at Annual Safety Coordinators Conference (9/23-24/03)

    • Share information on best practices
      • Testing of Rubber Gloves every 60 days
      • Mount strobe lights fleet vehicles in order to increase visibility
      • Certified Loss Control Representatives
      • Each system performs outreach to the community (Coast 
        Electric & Four Counties have developed training trailers to be 
        used for live demonstrations)
    • Coast Electric EPA has expressed an interest in becoming a VPP site. Major obstacle is majority of work performed offsite as part of a mobile workforce

    • Representatives promote their good working relationship with OSHA whenever they attend meetings.

    • Attend Full-Time Safety Coordinator Round Table (3/31/04)

    • Conducted all scheduled Quarterly Alliance Meetings
    Upcoming Milestones:
    • Advance Lineman School
      • Plan for additional CSHO to attend the next class (Fall 04)
    • Distribute the following CD's to members: Struck-by and Updated Photo CD

    • Presented "So You Want to Be a Lineman" to the following Associations:
      • Central Electric Power Association
