Today's children are the first generation to grow up plugged into electronic media and isolated from nature. In fact, it has become the new norm in our lives and the lives of our kids.

As a healthy counterbalance to this growing trend, the National Wildlife Federation addresses this new reality through a national initiative called Be Out There™. The Be Out There campaign provides practical tools for millions of parents, educators, and caregivers to make outdoor time a part of their daily activities.

In addition, the National Wildlife Federation's long-history of educational excellence provides solid tools for educators and schools to address the needs of this new "indoor generation."
