The National Park Service makes every effort to keep the public informed about news events, accomplishments, employee recognitions, special and re-occurring events which occur within and around the units of the Park Service.
Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area publishes the yearly Visitor Guide newspaper which provides visit planning information and contains articles on various resource-related topics. Copies of the Visitor Guide are available at park visitor centers, campgrounds, boat launches, district offices and by mail. Click here to request a copy.

| Vacation Cabin Environmental Assessment |

The National Park Service will examine and address the impacts and suitability of private vacation cabins along the shoreline of Lake Roosevelt at Rickey Point and Sherman Creek as it begins preparing a Vacation Cabin Environmental Assessment.
In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, the park will prepare an environmental assessment (EA) to guide decisions concerning the renewal of existing permits and the terms and conditions of the permits. The EA will look at a range of alternatives for the permitting of private vacation cabins to address public expectations and the protection of park resources.

Did You Know?
The pretty violet flowers of this wild hyacinth grows at Lake Roosevelt. An important food source, its small but sweet onion bulb is still popular. Covered by a fibrous netting called a corm net, excavated and carbon dated corm nets established that people lived at Kettle Falls 9,500 years ago.
