NLM Hosts Faith, Hope and Healing: An Evening with Levi Watkins, Jr., Pioneer Cardiac Surgeon

The National Library of Medicine Diversity Council is sponsoring a special event on Friday, April 27, 2007 to launch the exhibition "Opening Doors: Contemporary African American Surgeons" in the lobby of the Library. The event is titled: An Evening with Dr. Levi Watkins, Jr., Pioneer Heart Surgeon. There will also be a performance by The Unified Voices Choir of The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions.

The event begins with refreshments and a tour of the exhibition from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. in the lobby of the Library on the campus of the National Institutes of Health (Building 38). The tour will be followed by presentations by Dr. Watkins and the choir in the NLM Lister Hill Center Auditorium (Building 38A) at 6:30 p.m.
