Head Selected for National Information Center for Health Services Research and Health Care Technology

Lisa Lang has been named to head NLM's National Information Center for Health Services Research and Health Care Technology (NICHSR), effective June 18th. NICHSR coordinates the development and management of NLM information services in the fields of health services research and public health. She will also serve as NLM's Assistant Director for Health Services Research.

Ms. Lang is currently employed as a health information specialist in the quality measurement and health assessment group at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Office of Clinical Standards and Quality. From 1994 to 2004, she was a senior health policy analyst in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Ms. Lang began her federal career in 1980 as a Presidential Management Intern. She received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her master's in public policy from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.
