| Army Sgt. 1st Class Daryl L. Szarenski shoots during the 50 meter air pistol competition at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, on Sept. 19, 2000. Fifteen U.S. military athletes are competing in the 2000 Olympic games as members of the U.S. Olympic team. In addition to the 15 competing athletes there are eight alternates and five coaches representing each of the four services in various venues. Szarenski is attached to the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, Fort Benning, Ga.
