Functional Statement
The Office of the Assistant Administrator for Enforcement and Compliance Assurance serves as the primary advisor to the Administrator in matters concerning enforcement, compliance assurance, and environmental-equity efforts; and provides the direction and review of all administrative, civil and criminal enforcement and compliance monitoring and assurance activities. The Office manages the national criminal enforcement program as well as regulatory, site remediation and federal facilities enforcement and compliance assurance programs. The Office manages both administrative and judicial activities in the enforcement and compliance programs; and provides case preparation and investigative expertise for enforcement activities, through the National Enforcement Investigations Center (NEIC) to Headquarters, Regions and States.
