When you hike in Yellowstone it is smart to wear a bell or to sing while walking. That way if there is a grizzly bear around, he will know you are coming and won't be startled.

Did You Know?
Prior to the establishment of the National Park Service, the U.S. Army protected Yellowstone between 1886 and 1918. Fort Yellowstone was established at Mammoth Hot Springs for that purpose.
