Community Meeting Set for Saturday Afternoon in Wapiti
Wapiti, WY - A community meeting, hosted by Mark Grant’s Incident Management Team, is scheduled for Saturday, August 18th at 2:00 p.m. at the Wapiti School. Team members and officials from the Shoshone National Forest and Yellowstone National Park will be on hand to share fire information and answer questions from local residents and interested members of the public.

The lightning-caused fire began August 9th in Yellowstone and spread onto the Shoshone National Forest on August 15th. The fire is currently estimated at 18,500 acres.

At peak summer levels, 3,500 employees work for Yellowstone National Park concessioners and about 800 work for the park.
