And
Alabama - Associated General Contractors of America, Incorporated

Safe State of Alabama, Alabama Department of Transportation,
The Federal Highway Administration – Alabama Division,

Public Employee Safety Council of Alabama

The Public Employee Safety Council of Alabama (PESCA) joins with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Alabama – Association General Contractors of America (AlabamaAGC), Alabama Road Builders Association (ARBA), Safe State of Alabama, Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), 3M Corporation (3M), Lamar Outdoor Advertising (Lamar) and the Auburn University - Alabama Technology Transfer Center (Alabama T-2 Center) and Alabama Power Company (Alabama Power) in recognizing the value of establishing a collaborative relationship to advance safety and more healthful American workplaces. PESCA therefore agrees to join the OSHA, AlabamaAGC, ARBA, Safe State, ALDOT, FHWA, 3M, Lamar, Alabama T-2 Center and Alabama Power Alliance to use their collective expertise to help protect employees’ health and safety, particularly promoting the value of safety and health to alliance members and others in the area of work zone safety and the prevention of "Struck By" hazards. PESCA agrees to all of the provisions of the original Alliance signed on April 16, 2003, and renewed by OSHA, AlabamaAGC, ARBA, Safe State, ALDOT, FHWA, 3M, Lamar, Alabama T-2 Center and Alabama Power on February 3, 2005. In amending this agreement all participants recognize that OSHA’s State Plan and Consultation project partners are an integral part of the OSHA national effort.

OSHA’s Alliances provide parties an opportunity to participate in a voluntary cooperative relationship with OSHA for purposes such as training and education, outreach and communication and promoting a national dialogue on workplace safety and health. These Alliances have proved to be valuable tools for both OSHA and its Alliance participants. By entering into an Alliance with a party, OSHA is not endorsing any of that party’s products or services; nor does the Agency enter into an Alliance with the purpose of promoting a particular party’s products or services.

An implementation team made up of representatives from the participating organizations will meet to develop a plan of action, determine working procedures, and identify the roles and responsibilities of the participants. In addition, they will meet at least three times per year to track and share information on activities and results in achieving the goals of the Alliance. OSHA will encourage State Plan States’ and OSHA Consultation Projects’ participation on the team.
