Progress and Results

The Acid Rain and NOx Budget emissions trading programs have made great strides in reducing emissions of sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx), the pollutants that cause acid rain and ozone.

The Clean Air Markets Division publishes several Progress Reports summarizing the programs' progress.

 

In addition , EPA provides a number of  tools for assessing progress and evaluating aspects of power generation in reducing SO2 and NOx emissions and acid rain.
