ARMY

Sierra Research, Buffalo, N.Y., was awarded on May 29, 2003, a delivery order amount of $5,799,886 as part of a $36,397,561 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the Unmanned Threat Emitter Modernization Program and services and equipment for the mobile threat emitter simulator. Work will be performed in Buffalo, N.Y. (96.5%), and Fallon, Nev. (3.5%), and is expected to be completed by Jan. 28, 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole source contract initiated on June 7, 2000. The U.S. Army and Missile Defense Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (DAAH01-00-D-A102).

SAIC, McLean, Va., was awarded on May 30, 2003, a $6,459,397 increment as part of a $16,736,296 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for homeland defense, advanced concept technical demonstrations, the Joint Forces Command Liaison Office, international test and evaluation agreements and reliance, emerging technology test requirements and technology transfer analysis support. Work will be performed in Alexandria, Va. (80%), and Mclean, Va. (20%), and is expected to be completed by May 31, 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole source contract initiated on Feb. 21, 2003. The Defense Contracting Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (DASW01-03-C-0034).

Virtexco Corp., Norfolk, Va., was awarded on May 30, 2003, a $12,514,050 firm-fixed-price contract for the whole house renovation of 46 historic houses. Work will be performed at Langley Air Force Base, Va., and is expected to be completed by May 30, 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 40 bids solicited on Nov. 22, 2002, and five bids were received. The U.S. Army Engineer District, Norfolk, Va., is the contracting activity (DACA65-03-C-0044).

AM General Corp., South Bend, Ind., was awarded on May 30, 2003, an $11,535,757 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for 169 high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicles. Work will be performed in South Bend, Ind., and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole source contract initiated on July 17, 2000. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (DAAE07-01-C-S001).

Coley Pharmaceuticals Inc., Wellesley, Mass., was awarded on May 30, 2003, a $6,000,000 modification to a cost-reimbursement contract for development of a vaccine adjuvant to enhance the safety and efficacy of a vaccine against anthrax toxin proteins. Work will be performed in Wellesley, Mass., and is expected to be completed by June 4, 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were an unknown number of bids solicited via broad agency announcement on Sept. 4, 2001, and 286 bids were received. The U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, Research Triangle Park, N.C., is the contracting activity (DAAD19-03-C-0002).

DEFENSE INFORMATION SYSTEMS AGENCY

Motorola Inc., U.S. Federal Government Markets Division, Hanover, Md., was awarded on May 30, 2003, a contract for the purchase, delivery and distribution of 3,000 portable and vehicular-mounted mobile radios, base stations, repeaters and towers, spare parts and installation to support the Baghdad Police Force. The contract was awarded on a firm-fixed-price basis for a 120-day period. The total price for this contract is $15,820,589. This procurement was conducted as a competition between vendors holding federal supply schedules offering radios and other telecommunications equipment/services. The request for quotation was published using eBuy, with nine offerors specifically identified to be contacted and with the ability of other schedule holders to respond to the request for quotation. The Defense Information Systems Agency, Acquisition, Logistics and Facilities Directorate, Network Services and Operations Division, Falls Church, Va., is the contracting activity (DCA100-03-P-4397).

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Burlington Apparel Fabrics, Greensboro, N.C., is being awarded a $10,367,640 fixed-price with economic price adjustment type of contract for tropical poly/wool navy shade 3346 cloth for the U.S. Navy. This contract includes four-options (announcement covers base year only). Work will also be performed in Raeford and Cordova, N.C., and Hurt, Va. Performance completion date is expected to be Oct. 24, 2004. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was an internet solicitation, and three responded. The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SP0100-03-C-0319).
